Using the search engines to drive traffic to websites is a primary goal of most e-marketers on the Web. But, how much traffic do the best of them get on a monthly basis? I just saw this list published of the Top 10 in terms of their search engine-driven visitors.

Monthly Traffic Volume from Search Engines

1. Amazon — 212 Million

2. Apple — 184 Million

3. eBay — 110 Million

4. Adobe — 82 Million

5. Microsoft Office — 67 Million

6. Craigslist — 64 Million

7. iTunes — 53 Million

8. TripAdvisor — 51 Million

9. Samsung — 48 Million

10. Hewlett-Packard — 45 Million

These companies have invested heavily to achieve this kind of search engine dominance. Believe me, anyone who thinks search engine traffic is “free” has no idea what these major corporations have done to get this kind of online exposure. On the other hand, the investment has made all of them leaders in their industries.
